I was in Japan for two weeks. I can't speak japanese but I was always very interestet in japanese culture. Together with my bestfriend I took part in a student exchange.
I visited Kyoto, Obihiro and at last Tokio. In Obihiro I stayed one week with a host family. I've never met such wonderful people in another country before. I think I won a second family there. Next year a Japanese student will visit germany for one week. Unfortunately it wont be the same as my exchange student.
by the way...Japanese people are really crazy in making presents. (I arrived with two bags in Japan and I came home with four. ...I mean...two more!! ...And they were just filled with presents! )
The first 4 days we - 6 student girls and 2 boys and our two teachers - lived in Kyoto. It's an amazing city. we visited many temples and gardens, that were very beautiful. I was really moved by respect as I saw the elegancy of old classical japanese art. Mostly Its so natural and very decent but that makes it perfect of it's own way.
Tokio was also very impressive. You can never imagine if you haven't seen this city by your own eyes. It's not gigantic. It's not mammoth. not enormous, not decuman. It's even more than everything. and People are ...wow. everyone's polite and pretty. I was just like " Uh ! O__O " when I walekd trough the many streets and large intersections with zebra crossings. I couldn't get enough. Wehn I looked to the sky and obeyed the gigantic skyscrapers it seemed as if they came closer to me. The bend towards to me and I was so small so exiguous. Unfortunately the weather was bad the whole three days in tokio. we couldn't get a far view on tokios guildhall because it rained everytime and harajuku wasn't as filled with crazy cosplayers as I expectet.
I came back home. I was never lost. But I lost a peace of my heart far away beyond the ocean on this wonderful island. I'd really like to tell you more of this trip. I just guess I can't find the right words to express what I've experienced. It's even difficult to speak in german. So how could I tell you in english.
All thats left of the gentle feeling, the red sun, the smiling faces and the vibrant mulitude of the colossal city are my memories. I feel very sad , because the two most impressive weeks of my previous live are over now. But I was never that happy and satisfied. I learned a lot. hahaaa I'm perfect with the chopsticks for example xD !! i like japanese food...
now I should make the best of my home. so Lets ROCK it ;D
